Super Bowl Winner

I told myself that I was not going to write a blog entry following the Super Bowl. Whatever the outcome would be, I figured that I would be too emotional and exhausted to dictate my thoughts into the computer for thirty minutes.. But the GIANTS won!!!!!! They did it!!!! In one  of the greatest stories in the history of New York sports the Jints derailed the New England Patriots' pursuit for Perfection. After an unforgettable game for the ages the Giants lifted the Vince Lombardi in the heart of the Arizona desert. And I'm speechless. No, I'm not speechless. I just keep screaming the same word to myself while smiling and pumping my fists, "YES"!! "YES"!! "YES"!! Sing it like Marv Albert.

I'm worn out. There are a million story lines here to discuss but I'll let the media hit those up before I do. It's 1 am and I gotta go to bed. I leave you with this.....

The best way to describe today's football game is from a scene in the movie "Goodfellas," where the Joe Pesci character, Tommy Desimone, gets killed. In the scene, Tommy thinks he is walking into a Mafioso's house to be inducted into the Lucchese crime family. For Tommy, it's the biggest day of his life. He's gonna be a "made guy". Little does he know, he isn't there for an induction ceremony, he's there for a murder. His own murder. Ya see, I'm using this example, because the Patriots are Tommy. They came to Glendale seeking immortality that would not be for the taking. The Giants made sure of that. And just like Tommy, the Patriots had it coming, which is why they were left devastated in a pool of Patriot blood. Just like Tommy.

Five Things that had no impact on the game. or did they???

1.  Pre Game Music

Now this is interesting, because I notice a lot of things that don't matter, but I'm really big on the songs that both the athletes and the teams use for their music. I'll never forget Super Bowl XL when the Steelers came out onto the field to Fat Boy Slims, "Right Here Right Now." (If you Google it, don't confuse it with the Jesus Jones" song). It was a horrible song, at least I thought it was, for Steel Town to choose to enter the field, but it was a much better choice than the Seahawks made. They chose "Bitter Sweet Symphony."
Well, not only did the Giants win the coin toss, but they won the battle of the beasts. While Kanye West's "Stronger" wouldn't be my pick. it's better than "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Ozborne.

2.   Hoodie

What was up with Bellicheck's red sweat shirt? I found it very odd. Why did he ditch the famous hoodie? He never lost when he wore that hoodie. Hmmmmmmmm.....

3.   Haircut

Tom Brady should have waited to trim his hair until after the playoff ride. I know you all noticed.

4.  Peyton

As a Giant fan, and as a football fan, it was pretty neat how Fox kept showing Peyton in his skybox throughout the whole game. Call me crazy, but I thinkPeyton bri=ought some positive Super Bowl spirits to the game. Like I said, call me crazy. Anyway, it's cool to see the greatest quarterback in the game cheering on your quarterback in the Super Bowl. Who, by the way, is his brother.

5. There is no #5.

I gotta go to bed. It doesn't matter anyway, because the Giants won the Super Bowl. Yes!!! Yes!!! I'm just gonna keep singing it "till I fall asleep. You can pinch me now. Because when I wake up, my big blue dreams will be a reality. Hey. I'll never get sick of looking at this:

Super Bowl XLII

Giants 17

Patriots 14

Eli Manning MVP

Scream it LOUD: G-MEN!!! Super Bowl Champs
