Decisions, Decisions
What type of moves should the Yankees make in the off-season? First off, they will have to decide what to about a GM (either re-sign Cashman, or don't). Additionally, they need to think about what free-agents they will pursue. Sabathia is a free-agent to be. AJ Burnett has an option to opt-out of his contract with Toronto, and Milwaukee's Ben Sheets is also atop the list. Mussina, Pettitte, and Abreu are amongst those as well. I say re-sign Abreau. I happen to really like him. The problem with the Phillies is that the fans expected Abreu to be that "Franchise Guy". Here in NY, he is simply a role player, and a good one at that. Pettitte can stay too. Nothing lengthy, but perhaps a ear or two. Depending upon what Mussina does this season, that decision is yet to be made. However, the Yankees do need to get some young, fiery arms. Boy, would I love to see someone like Brandon Webb in that rotation--wishful thinking, I know. PS, I'm watching the Yanks plpay the Tigers right now at Comerica and Igawa and Betemit NEED to go!!!
