Legendary quarterback Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals defeated the heavily-favored Carolina Panthers 33-13 Saturday night at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.

Warner, 37, a two-time NFL MVP and the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIV, went 22-32 and threw two touchdowns while leading the Birds surprising slaying of the Cats (12-5).

Warner, who was not drafted out of the University of Northern Iowa in 1994 and instead found work as a stock boy at a local Hy-Vee grocery store, is an all-time great at his craft and it is a genuine shame that he is not as universally appreciated and beloved by the bulk of NFL fans like he deserves to be.

Coupled with his 182 touchdowns in comparison to 114 interceptions, Warner has also tossed for more than 300 yards in 45.2 percent of the games he's started.

In anticipation of Super Bowl XLIII between the favored Pittsburgh Steelers (14-4) and the upstart Arizona Cardinals (12-7) this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, I ranked the best NFL championship games I have seen over the past 20 years.

When reading this list, remember that chocolate and vanilla ice cream flavors were created because everybody has different tastes. In layman's terms, I know my selections will not be universally respected or agreed upon and that is understandable.

Nevertheless, let me be clear, I am NOT a fan of the New York Giants. I root for leopards on crutches (the New York Jets) and I have never witnessed my own team win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in my lifetime. I write unbiased pieces and, in the same mold as iconic reporter Howard Cosell, "I call it like I see it."
