ESPN's Joe Morgan: The Little Red Machine -- That Won't Stop Talking

The Mouth That Roars...and Bores!

The good thing about Joe Morgan announcing baseball games on ESPN is that he knows the game.  The bad thing about Joe Morgan announcing baseball games on ESPN is that he will tell you how much he knows again and again, over and over – until views are ready to say: Over and out!

One the greatest second basemen ever and a major player on the Cincinnati Reds “Big Red Machine,” Joe never misses an opportunity to beat a play into submission.  And if that isn’t enough he’ll wrestle it to the ground, cuff it and put a knee in its back until it screams “Uncle!”

A rundown that occurred in the second inning is still on Joe’s radar in the ninth and, as a result, it remains on the radar of viewers.  “OK, Joe, we heard you the first eight times…no need to go over the play – again!”

Hey, at least we can turn him off:  Poor John Miller has to sit there through Joe’s blather for nine innings a night!
