So where will we find help for the bullpen? Let's face it Yankees fans, right now our bullpen is Mo and that's it. Is there any doubt when Farnsworth comes in at least one ball will leave the park? Now that Joba's gone to the rotation we need an arm for the 7th and 8th innings and we don't have any reliable arms out there right now.
So does it really make sense, in this era of baseball, to take your best arms from the pen? Your top starters don't go more than seven innings anymore. So you've got to have an 8th inning setup guy before you turn to your closer. Isn't it better to have that solid setup guy? Particularly on this team, where Wang and Pettite are the only guys who can give you those seven. You're not asking for more than six innings from any other starter. That includes Joba on a pitch count.
