Has Bill Buckner been replaced as the Boston Buckler?

I know this isn't a baseball post, but I know all you Yankee faithfuls love to see any home town team beat your nemesis town to the south, Boston. In 1986, Bill Buckner fudged the easiest groundout of his career and prolonged his team's dreaded "curse of the babe" a further eighteen years. Many felt happy for Buckner in 2004 when Boston won it's first title in 86 years. Sunday, the New England Patriots were 35 seconds from a perfect season. They had rival Peyton Manning's little brother, Eli, back against the ropes on third down. Ellis Hobbs was then juked by Plaxico Burress, who scored the game winning touchdown. Hobbs, like Buckner, was known for his spectacular defense. Does this seem too coincidental? I guess only if you live in Boston.
