Well it may not be the first game the Yankees have played without A-Rod but it is certainly the first being played with him officially on the DL.
Hopefully Melky Cabrera is “well rested” for tonight’s game (I am still baffled by his off day yesterday) because the Yanks will need all the help they can get offensively.
We can only hope that Andy Pettitte throws a gem tonight and that we see an “A-type” game…Mike Francesa’s formula for a game that has a starter go 7 innings, Joba in the 8th and Mariano in the 9th (pretty obvious huh)
Let’s face it, there is a lot riding on Andy’s shoulders tonight, and 9 times out of 10, he rises to the occasion and helps the team get a win following a loss.
This Tigers lineup is coming into its own and as Yankee fans, with the state of the pitching and semi-depleted lineup, it is as close to a must-win as you can get in late April.
Check back in after the game tonight, for The Good, The Bad and hopefully not too much of, The Ugly.
