Yankees at Tigers gm. 2 of 3 POST GAME THOUGHTS

Big win for the Yanks today, following last night’s loss.

Darrell Rasner had another solid, 6-inning outing and notched his second win in as many starts.

Kyle Farnsworth helped get out of a jam in the 7th and Joba looked great in the 8th and Mariano looked the same in the 9th.

THE GOOD:

Bullpen…Hope they all keep this up.  Kyle Farnsworth pitching well in the 7th is going to help shorten the game even more.  That is a deadly trio to deal with.

Jason Giambi...had another big rbi hit.

Derek Jeter…Hit his first home run of the season to get the Yanks’ offense started today.

THE BAD:

Wilson Betemit goes down with a hamstring injury…the way he played defense last night at third, it may be a blessing in disguise.  Okay, okay…you never want to see someone go down, but I think its safe to say that he is not the best alternative to A-Rod at third that the Yankees have.

THE UGLY:

Betemit’s defense last night is still nagging me…don’t ask me why.

Great win today hopefully the Yanks can muster up some offense behind Wang tomorrow before heading off to Tampa Bay for a 4-game series.
