Well it has been almost 3 weeks since my last blog and a lot of things have happened.

The unstoppable Kyle Farnsworth has been stopped.

The best 8th inning pitcher in the game is a starter.

The first baseman known as the 'Giambino' who was finished is starting to heat up.

Johnny Damon can't be stopped.

The 2 starters that we all penciled in to be aces this year (Wang and Pettitte) are flat, and Moose and Rasner??? are keeping us afloat.

At .500 going into tonight's series opener against the Oakland Athletics.  Big, big series.

ah its good to be back. (as long as the Yankees start to win)

The Yankees should send Willie Randolph a nice little present.  If it wasn't for him taking so much heat in the papers and all over the internet about some of his comments, the Yankees and their terrible play would be front and center.

The Yankees need to get going in every part of the game. Their strongest assets, Joba and Mariano, can't contribute if the team doesn't put them in position to do so.

It can't get much uglier than the past 2 games and hopefully they can turn it around sooner rather than later.

This one was ugly, very ugly.  Yanks are in some legitimate trouble.

I'm sure WFAN will be flooded with calls this week about how Willie Randolph didn't get throw out of the game but Coach, Jerry Manuel did....

Wang had 3 solid innings then just hit a wall.  At least he was able to get into the 7th, despite leaving with runners on the bases.  Ross Ohlendorf got lit up, plain and simple.

We will be skipping "the good" part tonight, for obvious reasons...

THE UGLY:

offense...2 runs tonight...can't hit with runners in scoring position...Can't blame it all on injuries even if those injuries include a guy by the name of A-Rod.

the guy sitting near the foul pole...best part about that whole situation is that Jon Miller actually mentioned the guy pointing that the ball was fair, like his opinion actually counted.  Between his extreme pronunciation of Hispanic ball players and Joe Morgan's overall stupidity and complete bias, ESPN Sunday Night Baseball is absolutely 100 % unwatchable.

No wonder there are websites completely devoted to the firing of Joe Morgan.  How can anyone take this guy seriously as far as being a broadcaster is concerned.  This guy's hatred for the Yankees just spews out from everything he says when he is doing a game that involves the Yankees.  I thought Suzyn Waldman was unbearable to listen to....The foul pole business was pretty crazy tho...

So the Yanks go down to Tampa and lose 3 out of 4...Looking at both New York teams right now, neither looks like a competitor at this point in the season.

Fitting that the first subway series will be this weekend, when both teams are playing pretty bad baseball.

and btw...is it me, or is Ian Kennedy laughing and smiling way too much for a pitcher that is a hair away from spending the rest of the season in Scranton?

THE GOOD:

Robinson Cano...another multi-hit game for Robby, who was the league's hottest hitter this week (yippee)

The bullpen...Yet again, they hold a deficit, too bad they are not being put into more positions where they are protecting leads.

Derek Jeter...2 hits today, including a big 2-out RBI single. (one of which was his 2,400th career hit)

Well Hank Steinbrenner laid down the first of what are probably many ultimatums and for one night, it worked.

The Yankees get a win and yet again, limited offense...but it was enough.

THE GOOD:

Robinson Cano...4 for 4 today, you get the sense he is back, which would be huge.

Joba...Aside from the walk he issued to Iwamura, he struck out the other 3 batters in the inning.

Moose...6.1 scoreless innings.  With the production that he has given the Yanks early on this season, makes you wonder where the Yankees would be right now with a healthy A-Rod and Posada and healthy (and good) Phil Hughes.

Melky...Everyone always talks about whether the Yankees should have given up Hughes and/or Kennedy to get Santana in the off-season, which is a debate that will live on forever, but what most people won't mention is that Melky Cabrera was also involved in that trade.  Between Cabrera, Hughes and Kennedy, you tell me who has been the best player so far this season....

THE GOOD:

Pitching...Wang and the bullpen pitched well tonight, too bad that can't cross over to the offense.

Hideki Matsui in the 9th...Very clutch home run to send the game to extra innings.

THE BAD:

The offense is NOWHERE to be found.

THE UGLY:

THE OFFENSE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

Overall it was a tough game to watch...tough loss and now the Rays are in first place thanks to the Red Sox' loss tonight against Baltimore.

How about Barry Bonds getting indicted on 14 counts of perjury.  I'd say hes finished and maybe he is...but somehow these things always work out for star athletes and their time served is minimal.  I guess we will have to wait and see...all I know, is that I can't wait to watch his story on "E:60"  *cough cough sarchasm cough cough*

So the Yanks look to even up the series tonight against the red-hot Tampa Bay Rays...Hopefully the offense can hit Edwin Jackson early.

Right now, I'd like to see the Yankees break even in this series (I can't believe I'm saying that about a Yankees-Rays series) and then focus on the big subway series coming up at the Stadium this weekend.

A-Rod is definetly out for the series against the Mets...we need him back ASAP!

Well after yesterday's rain out, the Yanks played the first of four games against the Rays and were pretty much dominated.

Starting Pitcher, Matt Garza, who was involved in the trade that sent Delmon Young to the Twins was great...and the Yankees were not.

Believe it or not...the Rays are very hot and I truly think are a team to watch, if not this year, defintely next year...

Big win for the Yanks today, following last night’s loss.

Darrell Rasner had another solid, 6-inning outing and notched his second win in as many starts.

Kyle Farnsworth helped get out of a jam in the 7th and Joba looked great in the 8th and Mariano looked the same in the 9th.

THE GOOD:

Bullpen…Hope they all keep this up.  Kyle Farnsworth pitching well in the 7th is going to help shorten the game even more.  That is a deadly trio to deal with.

Jason Giambi...had another big rbi hit.

Derek Jeter…Hit his first home run of the season to get the Yanks’ offense started today.

THE BAD:

Wilson Betemit goes down with a hamstring injury…the way he played defense last night at third, it may be a blessing in disguise.  Okay, okay…you never want to see someone go down, but I think its safe to say that he is not the best alternative to A-Rod at third that the Yankees have.
