So, any chance that A.J. Burnett is the pitcher that sets the pace for the team? C.C Sabathia was brought in as the ace of their staff, but Joba Chamberlain says that, "each pitcher tries to out do the next." A healthy competition between men. A.J showed the most emotion on the pitchers mound so far. He seems to be the pitcher that likes to speak his mind the most, making him the most likely to be more accesible. That may lead him be the one that sets the pace for the team this season. Thoe other pitchers will try and out perform AJ's win. Because of Mr. Burnett, the team got their 1st win of 2009 season, and makes it the natural pace setter, but it may be no coincidence he won the first game. If he was a Brave, he would have been the ace for them. His potential to pitch tough might have gotten the pitchers to follow suit. I feel that this rotation might see Burnett with the most wins. Does anyone disagree?

It would appear that way given that we still seem to be searching for a "staff".

As of right now, I believe A.J. is not getting any run support. He pitched his heart out in that game against the Rangers earlier this week. Veras came in and got into trouble. Good thing the offense scored a lot of runs, otherwise he would have ended up with another no-decision.

If you want to talk consistency, look at Andy Pettitte. It's just been win after win with only 1 loss before he strained his back. Click here for the article. Phil Hughes started out slow but now he's on a roll and as long as he stays there, Joe Girardi will keep him in the rotation and keep Wang in the bullpen.
