Being a baller, I tend to play basketball a lot. The other day I was balling, and some other ballers challenged me and my baller bros to a game of full-court. FULL COURT. I suck at full court.

I can't dribble, so full-court makes me look like an even shitter dribbler. One of my favorite dribbling techniques is to get a rebound, then take a few steps and crouch down, protecting the ball. I'll try to pass it to a teammate, then it'll get stolen. That's how I work.

Whatever questions Michael Kaye had about the negative things that happened in his life, he took full responsibility for it: drugs and tax evasion. You name it! Whatever he did wrong he took full responsibility for it, unlike Roger Clemens, who’s given denial after denial that he did steroids.

As a California transplant living in Denver, the match-up in the Western Conference between the Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors is arguably the one I watch the closest. Maybe it was because it was the first big game on national TV, perhaps it was because Allen Iverson is leaving for Detroit but Chauncey Billups isn't quite available for the Nuggets yet, or maybe (just maybe...), the Warriors made a triumphant return to the guerrilla-style hit-and-run basketball that has been so prevolent over the last few years. Sure, there's still issues with Al Harington demanding a trade (get RID of this guy, he's bumming everyone out and his shot average has gone down significantly), Monta still isn't back, but this is a solid team that is going to compete.

Part of being a fan of the Warriors is dealing with heartbreakingly narrow losses and aggrivating lead switches. Any NBA fan knows that once you stick to a team, there is a certain amount of sleep to lose over it. Tonight was another one of those nights where perhaps pessimism had most fans not expecting what the Dubs ended up putting out; and once everyone was out of their seats for a season-opener win, Chris Paul and the Hornets swarmed back in to beat Golden State 108-105.

As I sit here and watch Johan shutout the Yankees for first three innings I wonder what it would be like for him to be in the road grey's. Sure it would be nice to have some one of his caliber as a member of the Yankees but I think his performance is season thus far has proven Brian Cashman correct. If the Yankees had traded Melky Cabrera, Phil Hughes, and Ian Kennedy for Johan Santanna, Yankee fans would be asking for more. I know Hughes and Kennedy have no wins this year but Hughes is only 20 years old and has great potential. He needs time to devlop. I am not sure what Kennedy turns into and I would have definetly been fine with trading him in a deal just not packaged with Hughes. It just wasnt fair for the Yankees to give up prospects and a huge contract.

The transition is complete.  The new "Joba Rules" are simple: he's a starter working on the same 100-pitch count as most other major league starters.  With that process completed (and completed seemlessly), and with the 20-20 perfection of hindsight, is there any more use in debating Joba's best role with the Yankees now and in the future?  He's a starter, ladies and gentlemen.  And he's going to develop into a damn good one, one that will make Hank's comparison's to Josh Beckett look pretty smart.  But he's also so much more than that.

Before I get to the 16 things we all need to know before the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 this weekend I would like to congratulate myself on some of my correct predictions.  I said the games would be much closer than last year and I must say, these games last week were unbelievable.  The scheduling by CBS sucked though because it seemed every good game happened at the same time as another good game and then there would be slots where all four games were blowouts.  This is something CBS needs to look at next year, I don’t want a time slot with two #1’s playing 16’s, a 2 playing a 15 and a 3 playing a 14.  I also said that last weekend would be the best sports weekend of the year and outside of my Giants winning the Super Bowl it definitely was (the Super Bowl has to be put on another level though and doesn’t count).  I also said many people would be throwing their brackets away on Monday morning and assuming many of you had Duke going further then round 2 and didn’t have Davidson or Western Kentucky in your Sweet 16 I feel confident that I was correct.  My final four is also still alive.  I feel very good about my predictions and even better about this tournament being an absolute classic.  All we need is a few great Sweet 16 games and a couple good ones over the weekend, followed by a powerhouse Final Four and we have a tournament to remember, as I predicted.

Apparently the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns have agreed on a trade that would send Shaquille O'Neal to Phoenix in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. I believe this is simply a knee-jerk reaction to the Los Angeles Lakers' acquisition of Pau Gasol (a brilliant move by L.A., by the way) and do not see how this trade can make sense from the Suns' vantage point.
