Tomasz “Granite Chin” Adamek defeated Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola by a majority decision Saturday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA. 

Despite surrendering a staggering 33.5 pounds to Arreola (28-2, 25 KOs), Adamek (41-1, 27 KOs) managed to withstand “The Nightmare’s” powerful blows and he utilized quick combinations to win the bulk of the rounds.

p>Actually, Valero’s ferocious and aggressive nature in the ring were somewhat reminiscent of Boxing Hall of Famer Roberto “Hands of Stone” Duran (103-16, 70 KOs). 

Clearly, Valero had much that he needed to accomplish before he ever could have been genuinely compared to a legend like Duran and, frankly, it’s ridiculous to even compare the two at this juncture.

IBF super middleweight titlist Lucian “Mister KO” Bute is scheduled to fight Edison Miranda on April 17 at the Bell Centre in the champ’s adopted hometown of Montreal.

“It will certainly be a pleasure for me to box again at the Bell Centre and to defend my title for the fifth time in front of my fans,” said Bute, 29, a native of Romania who has long resided in Canada’s second-largest city. “I am taking Miranda very seriously. “I’m going to take some time off from the sport of boxing,” said Taylor, 31, who lost four of his last five fights, including three by way of violent knockout. “It’s important that I give my body and mind some much-needed rest, because I have been boxing for nearly 20 years. I plan on keeping myself in shape and making a return to the sport sometime in the future.”
