Buffalo Bills

27 January 2010

II and XXVIII- In successive years, Troy Aikman and the Dallas Cowboys manhandled Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills to win back-to-back crowns.

Despite a roster littered with tremendous talent, the Bills were simply putrid when it generally mattered most.

Terrell Owens is Worse Than a "Clown." T.O. is a Clown Pocket

is a cancer in the locker room.  My logical response: There is less ego in the Buffalo Bills locker room than there have been in other locker rooms he has been a part of.  The Bills' locker room has enough room for his ego and, in fact, have thus far welcomed it.  Further, Buffalo is the smallest market Owens has ever played in.  Before this, he played in San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Dallas.  These three teams are large market teams that generally draw a good deal of media attention with or without Owens.  Buffalo has been getting a lot of attention lately - but it is because Owens is there now.  Since he is playing in a smaller market and is the biggest attention draw on the team (due to personality as well as skill.  I am not willing to say he is Buffalo's only talent; the defense is stacked if healthy, Marshawn Lynch is a stud, Lee Evans is fantastic, etc.) he can bask in the attention instead of crumble under the weight.  I do not need to remind NFL fans of the infamous crying interview.

Cancerous wide receiver Terrell Owens signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Buffalo Bills Saturday less than one week after the Dallas Cowboys justifiably released the pathetic superstar.

Why do people read books or watch movies? What is it that they find intriguing? It’s the story. If it’s a great story that you are looking for than you need only look to professional sports.

I don't know whether it's Jacksonville's disappointing start or the thick of a school year underway, but it's been a while since I've written.

After a brutal six-game stretch that included the Colts, Broncos, Titans, Steelers, and a first-place Bills team, the Jaguars actually sit in decent shape with their next three games consisting of 2-4 Cleveland, 0-7 Cincinnati, and 0-6 Detroit (not a bad time for a bye week and the soft part of the schedule, eh?) before hosting a rematch with Division leader, the Tennessee Titans, which already sounds like the type of game that could change a season if everything goes well.

With the MLB playoffs set to begin, there is a subtle difference in the air compared to start of any other postseason. In the NHL, fans can potentially look forward to a great Canadians/Bruins series that is not only exciting, but has a historical kick to it. Likewise basketball fans always have the chance to see if the Suns can finally get past the Spurs and football fans love seeing the rivalry of the Eagles Vs the City of Philadelphia when the Eagles so much as get tackled for a loss.

In the MLB, when you lose your first two games, no big deal. 160 to go. In the NBA, you lose your first two games, and there's still 80 left. But in the NFL, your first two games are one eighth of the season. Playoff teams usually lose a maximum of seven, and this year's Jacksonville Jaguars already has two of those losses. Panic time?

et too excited too early Jets fans, this one is not yours just yet.

Moving on, we have the Buffalo Bills.  Surprisingly, while there is all this talk that maybe the Jets will become the team to beat with Brady out, there is almost no talk about the Bills taking the top spot.  I will handle this in the most unbiased way I possibly can, keeping in mind that I bleed Buffalo blood.  There is plenty of room for improvement on a young

ls to a win, Donovon McNabb threw for 361 yards in an easy Eagles' win, and the Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills looked dominant, the Jacksonville Jaguar's preseason sluggishness was confirmed in a troubling 17-10 loss to its division rival and nemesis-in-the-making, Tennessee Titans. It was the second straight season Tennessee handed Jacksonville a season-opening loss. The effort came after former Broncos all-pro Tight End Shannon Sharp predicted the Jags would win the Super Bowl this year. Though an opening loss is no reason to panic, much work is left to be done and gaps left to be filled.
