Jeter, Damon, Cano, Posada, Swisher and Matsui all coming up with doubles, triples and HRs at various times on a daily basis. This was very much like '61 when Johnny Blanchard, Elston Howard, an ageing Yogi Berra and Moose Skowron all hit over 20 HRs and Howard hit .348 IN ADDITION to Mantle and Maris's combined 115 HRs. And, yes, the pitching has jelled beautifully. But without the kind of offense the Yankees are getting THROUGHOUT the lineup now the Ws would simply not stack up as well.

The Yankees get a win and yet again, limited offense...but it was enough.

THE GOOD:

Robinson Cano...4 for 4 today, you get the sense he is back, which would be huge.

Joba...Aside from the walk he issued to Iwamura, he struck out the other 3 batters in the inning.

Big win for the Yanks today, following last night’s loss.  

Darrell Rasner had another solid, 6-inning outing and notched his second win in as many starts. 

Kyle Farnsworth helped get out of a jam in the 7th and Joba looked great in the 8th and Mariano looked the same in the 9th.

Sorry for the lack of pre-game thoughts...goddam traffic. 

Well any Yankee fans that doubted Cliff Lee’s start are silent tonight.  He was dominant for 7 innings, plain and simple.  For the most part, Chien-Ming Wang was good, despite a few early mistakes.

in both the 3rd and 7th inning made it an all around ugly loss.  

THE GOOD:

Robinson Cano’s 2 run home run…If Robby can get back on track and hit like he is capable of, the Yankee lineup looks completely different. Although leaving a ton of runners in scoring position later on in the game kind of adds a sour note to his spot in the box score.
