Denver Broncos

22 April 2010

Now, let's move forward to the draft.  The Denver Broncos pull a "surprise" move and trade up to take Tebow in the 1st round.  Please do not misconstrue my intentions. I am not suggesting that the Broncos were somehow coerced into taking him or bought into it by the NFL.  However, what I am suggesting is that the league, the Broncos, and the Ravens (the team that traded with the Broncos for the Tebow pick) perhaps knew, maybe well before draft night, what was going to happen.  Basically, this implies the knowledge of the entire league because the Broncos and Ravens would have to know beyond doubt that no team before that pick was going to take him.

It is the time of the year where we bid adieu to our Sunday trips to the local outlet malls and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Where, as men, we stop our tofu and salad diets in the name of our loved ones who are repulsed by our manly guts, and turn the grill up to happiness. No more flavored waters, playing cards with the in-laws or going to the zoo with your kids- no, my fellow men, it is Football season. It is the dawning of imported German sausage links, cheap-hardcore domestic manly beers (ok, maybe Light beers, let's be honest, we are a little fat), and the most destructive hard hitting American game filling our heads with fantasy stats, eye-popping hits, and hope for a glorious triumph.

b was in limbo because Skins Owner Daniel Snyder was actively attempting to acquire Jay Cutler, the Denver Broncos former Pro Bowl signal-caller.

"I still went and worked out," assured Campbell, 27, the 2004 SEC Player of the Year who led the Auburn Tigers to an undefeated campaign on the gridiron that season. "My teammates said, 'Jason why are you here?' And I told them: 'I'm still the quarterback of this team until they get rid of me.'"

With the MLB playoffs set to begin, there is a subtle difference in the air compared to start of any other postseason. In the NHL, fans can potentially look forward to a great Canadians/Bruins series that is not only exciting, but has a historical kick to it. Likewise basketball fans always have the chance to see if the Suns can finally get past the Spurs and football fans love seeing the rivalry of the Eagles Vs the City of Philadelphia when the Eagles so much as get tackled for a loss.
