American super middleweight contender Allan “Thor” Green has replaced Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor in Showtime’s Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament and he is scheduled to fight current WBA world super middleweight champion Andre “Son of God” Ward on April 17 in Oakland.

Former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor formally withdrew from the Super Six World Boxing Classic on Tuesday due to concerns regarding his health.

“I’m going to take some time off from the sport of boxing,” said Taylor, 31, who lost four of his last five fights, including three by way of violent knockout. “It’s important that I give my body and mind some much-needed rest, because I have been boxing for nearly 20 years. I plan on keeping myself in shape and making a return to the sport sometime in the future.”
