Leading the Yankees to obtain Alex Rodriguez from the Texas Rangers and convert him from a shortstop to a third basemen. Regardless of his stupidity, his walk-off ALCS winning home run is one of the greatest moments in Yankees history. Hence, the Boone family cements its history in Yankee pinstripes

1 is Josh Hamilton from the Texas Rangers and the other is former professional wrestler Lex Luger.

Josh Hamilton lost 2 years of his baseball career after being a #1 draft pick for the Tampa Bay Rays back in 1999. He was getting paid a lot of money. He began hanging out with the wrong crowds and eventually got hooked on drugs. The day came and he asked Jesus to set him free. Here is his testimony.

He wants respect so what does he do? He decides to plunk an opposing batter. This is what Texas Rangers pitcher Vicente Padilla tried to do against the Yankees last night: try to get respect by plunking Mark Teixiera, not once, but twice. It backfired on him. All this did was spark a 7-run rally in the 4th inning for the Yankees. That home run by Hideki Matsui put the nail in the coffin on another Yankee win to keep them 1 game up on the Red Sox in the American League East. It prompted Mark Teixiera to shout, "That's what I'm talking about!" while congratulating Matsui after running the bases. A word to the wise to any pitcher thinking of plunking a player on the Yankees: they are a close knit team. You plunk any of their players purposely and it will spark their offense to bring out the heavy artillery. A couple of hits here, a double there, cap it with a home run and you're beat. Congratulations to Derek Jeter on scoring the 1500 run of his career during the 4th inning schlacking of

dicated to opposing batters what pitches were going to be thrown in advance while he played for the Texas Rangers from 2001-2003.

“The pitch-tipping was often enough over three years to become a pattern noticeable by the ex-Rangers sources that I spoke to,” said Roberts. “When games were already decided, they noticed this behavior with Alex where he would do very obvious signs, presumably to an opposing hitter who would be a middle infielder on an opposing team, where they believed he would tip the signs.”

With the MLB playoffs set to begin, there is a subtle difference in the air compared to start of any other postseason. In the NHL, fans can potentially look forward to a great Canadians/Bruins series that is not only exciting, but has a historical kick to it. Likewise basketball fans always have the chance to see if the Suns can finally get past the Spurs and football fans love seeing the rivalry of the Eagles Vs the City of Philadelphia when the Eagles so much as get tackled for a loss.

I remember it like it was yesterday.  Sitting on the edge of my Laz-y-Boy, my snack forgotten on the coffee table, and my eyes riveted to the little black-and-white TV with goosebumps all over my arms and a thrilling chill running down my spine.  It's 1984, and I'm watching Jack Morris working the last out of his no-hitter.  As he gets the last out, the feeling that overwhelms me is the essence of why I love baseball.  What being a fan is all about.

One of the All-Star Break traditions: Reassessing our predictions from the first half of the season. Some of mine have changed, some have stayed the same—and some were just damn wrong. Living in the West, I will take the contrarian position and roll from west to east in my choices.

"It's not a game, it's an arms race" - Kanye West and Fallout Boy belt this hook over and over again on a recent hit with that same title. In that context, Kanye and the Fallout Boy guys are referring to the battle of musical artists not only surviving in a competitive worldwide market, but one with hindrances around every music sharing online ripping program. While that's an issue for another day and another blogsite, it's relevance is crucial when talking about the current state of Major League baseball and the National Basketball Association.

Monday, Tues, Wed- Texas Rangers

The Yankees pitching will be tested this week as they face the hot-hitting Texas Rangers. This series will actually feature 6 of the top 10 hitters in the AL (Kinsler, Bradley, Hamilton, A-Rod, Damon, and Matsui.) The Yankees will likely score a bunch of runs, they need to hope that they can hold Texas to under 5 runs a game. Yankee fans will get their first look at the great story of Josh Hamilton however it wont be their only one as he will likely be back July 15 for the mid-summer classic. Look for the Yankees to take 2 out of 3 in this series.

As I remarked in my blog when he was released, Sidney Ponson has brought his teams little but grief to go with his occasionally adequate pitching. When the Rangers released him, I’d hoped that would be the last of Sir Sidney.

The Texas Rangers aren't known for making shrewd organizational moves. They were nicknamed The Strangers in the 1970s, in part because of their no-name team, but also for their proclivity towards hiring oddballs or also-rans. In the 1980s and 90s, striving for acceptance, they built a new ballfield (which has proved to be not only a sauna in the hot Texas summers, but also a launching pad for hitters) and enjoyed a brief window of respectability, appearing in their first postseason and winning their only playoff game in 1995.

For many baseball fans, last night wasn't a great night to watch baseball, as blowouts predominated early on. But, because of the beautiful game that is baseball, only three of them continued in their lopsided fashion, with the best of them highlighted by a homer from Micah Owings, the best-hitting pitcher in baseball, whom teammate Conor Jackson said had the "best pop" of anyone on the team. And all of them showed something about the winning and losing teams, proving that any baseball game is worth watching, even when it doesn't seem exciting.

The Texas Rangers still just seem to hover in the mediocrity bubble.  They still have not gotten the pitching help that they need and their rotation of Kevin Millwood, Vincente Padilla and Jason Jennings just isn’t going to cut it.  The bullpen is also weak this season and they don’t have a true closer.  The line-up will be able to get some hits and score their share of runs but the line-up always does that.  They brought it Josh Hamilton and I believe he will have a very good year with them.  Michael Young, Ian Kinsler and Hank Blalock (when he is healthy) will continue to produce.  This team should finish 3rd this season but I don’t think they will come close to contending with the Mariners or Angels.
